Halogen-free STANDARD Series

Series includes popular flame retardants, which were tested in many appplications and solutions. Due to their common use they have gotten trust from many companies. Halogen-free series was created for accommodating the new approach, which move away halogenated flame retardants, for their potential toxicity and environmental concerns.

FlameHunter
APP

Efficient flame retardant, which has also preventing and reducing properties of hazardous combustion products through char formation process on the surface of material. APP prevents from ignition through decomposition in temperature about 275°C. APP release ammonia in endothermic reaction, which dissolves and dilutes the gaseous products of combustion. Simultaneously polyphosphoric acid is forming a glass coating on the surface of the material. The advantage of the product is possibility of easy encapsulation in different chemical compounds, which improves homogenization in the polymer matrixes. Product is non-toxic and does not affect to the environment.  Appearance: White powder.

APPLICATION - flammability reduction in:
  • Polyesters and epoxy resins
  • Polyurethanes - TPU,solid PUR and PUR foams
  • Thermoplastics - PE, PP, PVC, EVA, PA and other construction materials
  • Polymer adhesives and rubbers

FlameHunter
APP C

Various versions of ammonium polyphosphate dedicated as flame retardants and smoke suppressants in paints and coatings. The main flame retardant action takes place in the carbonization phase on the surface in intumescent systems. AP660 version gives transparent coating on the surface of material which does not impact on structure of coated material.  Appearance: White powder.

APPLICATION - flammability reduction in:

  • Wood and plastic (PE, PP) based boards

FlameHunter
ATH

One of the most commonly used flame retardants due to its universal properties and good value for money. Significantly reduces the amount of hazardous combustion products. The burning process is interrupted by absorbing heat and emitting steam to the flame zone (ATH decomposes in endothermic process with water release). Alumina oxide layer is formed on the polymer surface, which additionally prevents from flame propagation. ATH use is  limited due to its low thermal stability and decomposition in temperature about 190–230 oC, making it difficult to use in processes with higher processing temperature.  Appearance: White powder.

APPLICATION - flammability reduction in:
  • Polyester and epoxy resins
  • Polymer adhesives and rubbers
  • Thermoplastics - PE, PP, PVC, EVA

FlameHunter

  • Expanded polystyrene EPS (Styrofoam)
  • Extruded polystyrene XPS (Styrodur)
  • Polypropylene PP, polyethylene PE and styren ABS materials

FlameHunter
MDH

Product has properties and effect similar to FlameHunter ATH, but has higher thermal stability - is stable up to 330 °C. In addition it has also higher decomposition energy. MDH is used mainly in flame retardancy of thermoplastics and thermosetting plastics with higher processing temperature >250 °C. Specific surface area 1 g of product is 7-15 m 2 , which depends on form and size of particles.  Available are different versions of product - both natural origin (brucite) and synthetic. Different kinds of coatings may be applied, which assure good dispersion in many resin mixes. Appearance: White powder.

APPLICATION - flammability reduction in:
  • Polyester and epoxy resins
  • Polyurethanes
  • Polymer adhesives, elastomers and India rubber
  • Thermoplastics - PE, PP, PVC, EVA
  • Construction materials with processing temperature >250 °C

FlameHunter
MCA

Due to high nitrogen content and aromatic structure product is very effective in flame retardancy of materials. During thermal decomposition product retrieves energy and emits gaseous combustion products (nitrogen, ammonia), which dilutes the flame area. This effect allows to reduce amount of oxygen and free radicals responsible for maintaining the fire. Compounds present in product works in intumescent system and forms char on the surface, which prevents flames from affecting the material. Product has high thermal stability - 350 °C, which allows to use this product in plastics wit high processing temperature.  Appearance: White powder.

APPLICATION - flammability reduction in:
  • Polyamides PA 6, PA 6.6 and PA derivatives modified with fiber glass
  • Polyurethane expanded foams PUR
  • Polyester resins
  • Electrical and electronic elements made from TPU

FlameHunter
MPP

Product has properties similar to FlameHunter MCA due to similar chemical structure. Compared to  FlameHunter MCA this product has higher thermal stability. In addition FlameHunter MPP has more effectiveness in char formation on the burning surface of  material, which increases material resistance to fire.   Appearance: White powder.

APPLICATION - flammability reduction in:
  • Polyamides PA 6.6 and PA derivatives modified with fiber glass
  • Polyurethanes (foams and elastomers)
